Hand hooked carpets / rugs
Based on a thick handloom cotton fabric, our rugs are made in an age-old traditional manner, originated in the mughal period. With the help of just a needle which has a tiny hook at one end, our highly skilled craftsmen in Kashmir are able to create masterpieces of art. Because each rug can take months for completion, we usually stock at least 15,000 square feet in all sizes at any given time.
Material: The surface is made either of 100% silk or 100% fine wool. The base used is cotton canvas.
Motifs: Persian medallion, persian qum, floral or geometrical.
No child labor: All of our products are completely free from child labor. Moreover, the hand hooked carpets can only be made by highly skilled and experienced artists. As there is no machinery required in the production of these rugs, the best part of the value of each rug goes to the artists & their families.
